Using the Contextual Menu

You can use the contextual menu in the 3D View and 3D View List panels to better visualize objects in the 3D View panel, 3D View List, tree and 3D area.

Reframe in 3D View

You can reframe an object in the 3D View panel from the 3D View or 3D View List panel.

  1. To open the 3D View panel, click 3D View from the Authoring section of the action bar.
  2. To open the 3D View List panel, click List Shown in the 3D View panel.

    Tip: Drag one panel to the other to merge them into tabs of a single panel, or to dock one below the other.

  3. From the 3D View or 3D View List panel, right-click an object and select Reframe in 3D View.

Center in 3D View List

You can display an object in the 3D View List panel from the 3D View panel.

  1. To open the 3D View panel, click 3D View from the Authoring section of the action bar.
  2. To open the 3D View List panel, click List Shown in the 3D View panel.

    Tip: Drag one panel to the other to merge them into tabs of a single panel, or to dock one below the other.

  3. From the 3D View panel, right-click an object and select Center 3D View List.

The selected object is centered and highlighted in the 3D View List panel.

Center in Tree

You can display an object in the tree from the 3D View or 3D View List panel.

  1. To open the 3D View panel, click 3D View from the Authoring section of the action bar.
  2. To open the 3D View List panel, click List Shown in the 3D View panel.

    Tip: Drag one panel to the other to merge them into tabs of a single panel, or to dock one below the other.

  3. Press F3 to display the tree.
  4. From the 3D View or 3D View List panel, right-click an object and select Center Tree.

The selected object is centered and highlighted in the tree.

Center in 3D Area

You can reframe an object in the 3D area from the 3D View or 3D View List panel.

  1. To open the 3D View panel, click 3D View from the Authoring section of the action bar.
  2. To open the 3D View List panel, click List Shown in the 3D View panel.

    Tip: Drag one panel to the other to merge them into tabs of a single panel, or to dock one below the other.

  3. From the 3D View or 3D View List panel, right-click an object and select Reframe On.

The 3D area zooms in the 3D representation of the object.
