- From the Axial Machining section, select Global Feature Recognition

The Global Feature Recognition dialog box appears.
- Still in the Basic tab:
- Under Feature, select the Hole check box to create machinable axial
features only.
- Select the top face of the part in the work area.
- Select the Pattern tab and set
the parameters for pattern creation as required, i.e. select the Create pattern for recognized holes check box, then the Diameter check box and Range, with a Minimum of 17 and a Maximum of 20.
See Creating Machining Patterns Using Global Feature Recognition for more information. A pattern is created on threaded holes whose diameter is included
in a specified range of diameters (that is, between
17 and 20mm). - Click OK in the Global Feature Recognition dialog box, then OK in the dialog box that appears to validate and exit the command.
- Prismatic machinable features are recognized and created as MAF.x and Prismatic machining area.x. See Creating Prismatic Machinable Features Globally for more information.
- The machining patterns are created as Pattern Geometry.x.
- Prismatic machinable features and patterns are visible in the Manufacturing View (Sort by Patterns or Sort by Machining Features).
- A dialog box opens and displays statistics about the recognized features, such as the number of faces, the number of holes found and their types, the number of pattern created, etc.
- To edit a machining pattern, double-click it In the Manufacturing View.
The Manufacturing Pattern dialog box opens.
