Starting a New Preparation

You can start a preparation of models from a Search Results panel, from a Navigation window, or from an Editor window (while working on a product).

Important: By default, the preparation is applied to the root product that is accounted for in the calculation, regardless other products that have been selected in the product structure.

Start a New Preparation from a Search Results

You can start a new preparation from a Search Results panel.

  1. Select the model in a Search Results panel. Alternatively, you can select the model from the Recently Searched Documents window.
  2. To start the preparation, select the model and from the Compass, click 3D Modeling Apps and select Experience Models Preparation.

The preparation process is launched and the Experience Models Preparation wizard opens. The Experience Models Preparation wizard guides you through the process of customizing preparation settings. Adjust the parameters and run the preparation process until you are satisfied with the resulting abstraction.

Start a New Preparation from a Navigation Window

You can start a new preparation from a Navigation window.

  1. Select the model in the Navigation window tree.
  2. To start the preparation, select the model and from the Compass, click 3D Modeling Apps and select Experience Models Preparation.

The preparation process is launched and the Experience Models Preparation wizard opens.

Start a New Preparation from an Editor Window

You can start a new preparation from any Editor window. The model is opened in the app in which it was created (assuming the appropriate app is installed and licensed).

  1. Select the model in the Editor window.
  2. To start the preparation, select the model and from the Compass, click 3D Modeling Apps and select Experience Models Preparation.

The preparation process is launched and the Experience Models Preparation wizard opens.
