Accessing and Customizing Preferences

You can access and customize preferences, including 3D Simulation preferences, using this task.

  1. Select Me > Preferences .
    The Preferences dialog box appears.
  2. Select the Infrastructure category in the left-hand box.
  3. Click to expand the tree.
    The tree expands.
  4. Select the 3D Simulation category.
    The preferences appear, organized in tabs.
  5. Select the tab corresponding to the preferences to be customized.

    Options in this tab... Allow you to customize...
    PPR Tree and Selection How you select items from the tree containing process, product, system, and resource content.
    3DSimulation Aspects of the 3D Simulation environment, including the floor position, the lighting of objects not related to the active simulation object (ASO), and the size and grouping or ordering of the thumbnails.
    Play Options The simulation management functions involving the rate of graphical updates and the time management options for simulations.
    Animation Capture context and other options.
    Device Analysis How degrees of freedom (DOF) transgressions appear in a simulation.
    Robot Analysis How tool center point (TCP) limits transgressions appear in a simulation.
    Motion Trace The default appearance for points, lines, axes, and other objects in a motion trace.
    Clash Analysis How clashes appear in your simulations when clash detection is on.

  6. Specify these preferences according to your needs.
  7. Click OK to save the options and exit the Preferences dialog box.
