Sketch Analysis Dialog Box
There are a few things that you need to know about Sketch Analysis dialog box.
This section describes the options available in the Geometry and Diagnostic tabs. .
Geometry Tab
The Geometry tab displays information helping you know whether the sketch geometry is valid. The types of elements listed under this tab are as follows:
- Implicit profiles: Set of standard connected geometries forming an open or closed profile in the work area.
- Output profiles
- Isolated standard geometries
- General Status: Analyzes several elements globally.
- Detailed Information: Provides a detailed status/comment on each geometrical element of the sketch.
- Corrective Actions
:
According to the analyzed element you select and which incorrect,
you can:
- : Turn this element into a construction element.
- : Close an open profile.
- : Erase an element.
- : Hide all constraints on the sketch.
- : Hide all construction geometries on the sketch and in the detailed information area of the Geometry tab.
- : Reverse the orientation of an implicit profile or standard curves in the sketch. Select each profile listed under Geometry to view its orientation in the work area. Notes:
- Orientation of the profile influences the shape of features like Blend. It can lead to a twist if not correctly oriented.
- You can see the direction visually with an arrow head. You can click the arrow head to reverse its orientation.
- The arrow head is visible when the current tab is Geometry.
- You can select several geometries together to change the orientation of all of them together.
- When a profile already has a result or another operation that depends upon its orientation, a red arrow appears when you change the orientation. The red arrow denotes the original orientation and you cannot select it.
- Orientation management is inapplicable for output profiles, points, and construction geometries.
Use-edges Tab
The Use-edges tab displays information on use-edges and their status.
- Detailed Information: provides a detailed status/comment on each use-edge of the sketch.
- Corrective Actions
:
according to the analyzed element you select and which incorrect,
you will be able to:
- : Isolate the associative use-edge making it non-associative with geometry
- : Remove the associative use-edge from update process (the use-edge is still associative to geometry but is not updated)
- : Erase an element
- : Replace a 3D geometry
- : Hide all constraints on the sketch
- : Hide all construction geometries on the sketch and in the detailed information area of the Geometry tab
Diagnostic Tab
The information on this tab displays a full diagnosis of a sketch geometry. It provides a global analysis of the sketch as a whole, and specifies whether individual geometrical elements in the sketch are under-constrained (under-defined), over-constrained (over-defined) or iso-constrained (well defined):
- Solving Status: provides a quick overall analysis of the sketch geometry.
- Detailed Information: provides a detailed information on each geometrical element of the sketch listed under Name. Status column lists the constraint status. Type column lists which kind of element one is. Scale check column defines the status of the element based on size and positioning according to the design range of the 3D.
- Action
: according
to the analyzed element you select, you will be able to:
- hide all constraints on the sketch and in the detailed information area,
- hide all construction geometries on the sketch and in the detailed information area of the Diagnostic tab.
- erase geometry
