Task Information

When you are assigned a task, you can view the task information to see the instructions and other information about the task.

To access the task information:

  1. Open the route and view the tasks.
  2. From the task context menu, select Open. If using the graph view, do not select edit mode. You can also double-click the task to open it.

Field Description
Title The name of the task.
Expected Action

The action required to complete the task:

Action Description
Approve Task assignee must enter a Comment and choose an approval status: Approve, Reject, or Abstain. If the task assignee chooses Approve or Abstain and then completes the task, the route continues as usual. If the task assignee chooses Reject and then completes the task, the route is stopped and the route creator is notified. If this happens, the system does not create the next task in the route until the route owner resumes the route.
Comment The task assignee must enter a comment before completing the Task.
Notify Only The task is automatically completed without the assignee taking any actions.

Instructions Explanation of what is required to complete the tasks.
Order A number indicating the order level of this task.
Assignee The person assigned to complete the task. If the task was created from a route template with with Ask Route Owner for task assignment defined, you cannot change the assignee here. You can use Select Assignee in the graph view of the Task tab.
Allow Delegation Yes or No

If Yes, you can delegate the task to another person. For more information, see Delegating a Task.

Due Date The date and time that the task must be completed.

If th route creator chose to allow the task assignee to set the due date, you can change this date. For more information, see Setting the Due Date.

Comments Comments entered by the Task Assignee. To complete the task, the assignee must fill in the comment field except for tasks with Notify Only actions.

If custom attributes are created for route tasks, the custom attributes are shown in this panel. Persons with access to view the task can view the custom attributes. The route owner or the task assignee can also edit these attributes when the route task is in any maturity state other than the Draft state.
