Creating a Custom Role

You can create your own customized roles by including additional apps. You can grant custom roles to fit specific needs of the users of your platform. If you grant someone a custom role which has been linked to a dashboard, the granted user will also have read access to the given dashboard.

  1. In the Roles section, click Create Custom Role.
    The Create Custom Role dialog box appears.
  2. Type a Name.

    This is the name of the role that appears in the Compass.

  3. Optional: Click to upload your own role icon.
    A preview of the icon appears.
    Note: You can remove it anytime by hovering over the icon thumbnail and clicking .
  4. In the Description field, type a description of the role.

    • You can use up to 2048 characters.
    • This information will appear in the About tab of the role.

  5. Select an additional app in the list or search for it in the search field.
  6. Click Save.

The new role is created. You can grant it to any member of the platform as any other role.
