Editing a User Group

You can edit the properties of a user group to better fit your needs, in terms of naming, or visibility.


Before you begin:
  • You must be an administrator of the platform or the owner of the group.
  • At least a user group must exist.
  • If you are a platform administrator and the group is not displayed in the My Groups node, select either of the following:
  • If you have access to several platforms, > Platforms, then select another platform in the list.

  1. On the User Groups dashboard app, select a user group.
  2. In the top-right, click Edit Group Properties.
  3. If you need to provide a different name and description in a different language, select one in the language context menu, and click Save.

    If you change your 3DEXPERIENCE language preferences, for example to French, and have modified the name and description of a group for this language, the French name and description will be displayed for this group all over the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. For example, this may be useful to filter a search result by language.

  4. Edit the name and description that will be linked to the selected language.
  5. If you need to change the owner of the group, in the Owner field, type the name of the new owner, and select it.
  6. Select a visibility option.

    Important: If your group is private and you switch it to public, the members of the group will be able to see both the group in their list of groups, and all the members of the group. This privacy switch is irreversible.

  7. Click Save to keep your changes.

The changes are taken into account.

The modification date is applied as UTC (Coordinated Universal Time).
