Alternative Deployment

This is a less hardware-intensive deployment that provides a lower degree of search and index redundancy.

Context:

This shows a more modest full HA deployment (with a large index), which combines the index and search server on a single secondary server.

  1. Install Exalead CloudView as a primary server (single-host) installation.

    For more information, see Installing Exalead CloudView.

  2. In the Administration Console, add the secondary servers.

    For more information, see Add a New Secondary Server.

    Note: For step 4, do not add any roles yet. Click Accept.

  3. Create the new build group.

    For more information, see Add a New Build Group.

    This procedure automatically adds the required roles to your build group host.
  4. Configure the combined search and index hosts.

    For more information, see Add a Combined Search and Index Server.

  5. Restart Exalead CloudView on the primary server.

  6. Install Exalead CloudView as a slave installation for each secondary server.

  7. Start Exalead CloudView on each secondary server.
  8. Verify index high-availability.
