Matrices and System Signals

The Communications tab displays matrices and system signals.

  • A matrix is a package that groups all the descriptions of the communications that occur on a multiplexed bus in the embedded architecture. It is structured as a list of data frames and individual bus signals. Matrices can be compliant with a standard. Such matrices have their description compatible with the AUTOSAR standard.
  • The system signal concept is provided by AUTOSAR. This concept is used as a logical view of an end-to-end data flow through the architecture.

Communications Tab Commands

The Communications tab enables you to:

  • Create new matrices. See Create Matrix. In these matrices, you can:
    • Create frames, PDUs, cyclic and burst events, bus signals, system signals, signal values, ...

For more information, see Populating a Communication Matrix.

    • Import matrix description files compliant with existing industrial standards.

For more information, see the EE Tools Section chapter.

  • Edit the details of each object.
  • Drag a bus signal from a frame to another frame of the same matrix.
