Editing Virtual Links

From the tree or from the Virtual Links Table Editor, you can edit virtual links.

Note: With the Avionics Architect (AVARA) role, you can work with Ethernet networks for Avionics.

The scenario describes how to edit a private virtual link. The scenario is identical for a shared virtual link.


Before you begin: Create a private or a shared virtual link. For more information, see Creating Virtual Links.

  1. In the tree, double-click the Virtual Links node from a topology.

    Notes:
    • For a shared virtual link, to access the editor double-click or right-click a shared virtual link and select Edit Shared Virtual Links.

    • You can also right-click the Virtual Links node and select Edit Virtual Links.

    The Virtual Links Table Editor appears. For more information, see Virtual Links Table Editor.
  2. To add or replace an entry component:

    1. Click Select entry EE component under the Entry column.
    2. From the EE component pane, select a component.

    The selected component is defined as the entry component.
    Note: A virtual link has only one entry component.
  3. To add an exit component:
    • From the Virtual Links Table Editor:
      1. Click Insert exit EE components under the Exits column.
      2. From the EE component pane, select a component.
    • From the tree:
      1. Select a component to be added.
      2. Right-click the component and select Add EE Component to Virtual Link Exits.
      3. From the Virtual Links pane, select a link.
    • From the context toolbar:
      1. From the hardware diagram, select a component.
      2. From the context toolbar, click Add EE Component to Virtual Link Exits.
    The selected component is added as an exit component.
  4. Optional: To remove an exit component:
    1. Select the check box of an exit component, under the Exits column.
    2. Click Take out selected exit EE Components .
    The selected component is removed from the virtual link.
