About Electrical Devices

The Logical to Physical Assistant gives you an overview of the electrical devices in your logical and physical systems. In each column, a value and a symbol appear.

Electrical Device Columns

When you click the Electrical Device tab, the following columns appear.


Column	Description	Symbol
2D Instance	Displays the name of the logical instance.	—
System	Displays the name of the logical system in which the logical instance is.	—
Expected 3D Reference	Displays the expected reference of the physical electrical device. The value that appears in the column depends on the following conditions: If the logical instance has a predefined part number, then the Expected 3D Reference comes from this predefined part number. When the predefined part number returns multiple candidates, the L2P_Select3DReference business rule filters the results to return only one candidate. For more information, see Select a 3D Physical Reference from Computed 3D References (L2P_Select3DReference). If the L2P_Select3DReference business rule is not implemented when there are multiple candidates, a appears in the cell. If the logical instance does not have a predefined part number, then the Expected 3D Reference comes from the L2P_Compute3DReference business rule, if the business rule returns a reference. For more information, see Compute 3D Physical Reference (L2P_Compute3DReference).	: only one candidate is retrieved. : indicates that: There are multiple candidates. The Expected 3D Reference is the default reference from the Data Setup. : no candidate is retrieved.
Current 3D Reference	Displays the reference of the physical electrical device that has an implement link to the logical instance. An empty cell means that no physical instance exists for the selected row.	: the Current 3D Reference is the same as the Expected 3D Reference. : the Current 3D Reference is different from the Expected 3D Reference. : the physical reference is missing.
3D Instance	Displays the name of the physical electrical device. An empty cell means that no physical electrical device exists.	—
Expected 3D Parent	Displays the name of the expected physical parent. The expected physical parent can be: The candidate that the L2P_Compute3DParent business rule returns. For more information, see Compute 3D Physical Reference (L2P_Compute3DReference) The candidate that you selected using Set Parent . For more information, see Selecting Parents.	—
3D Parent	Displays the name of the parent of the physical electrical device. An empty cell means that no physical parent exists.	: the physical parent: Is defined and exists in the session Is the same as the Expected 3D Parent. : the physical parent is different from the Expected 3D Parent. : the 3D Instance is missing.
Expected 3D Space	Displays the name of the expected 3D space. An empty cell means that the analysis could not return a candidate.	: the Expected 3D Space is the same as the current 3D space. : the Expected 3D Space is different from the current 3D space.
Synchronization Status	Displays the state of the selected row. There are four possible states for a row: Logical and physical facets are in place: indicates that both the physical and logical data are present. Logical in session, physical is missing: indicates that the physical data is missing. Logical is missing, physical in session: indicates that the logical data is missing. Both logical and physical are missing: indicates that both the logical and physical data are missing.	Red row: both the logical and physical data are missing. Note: The color red indicates that the row is empty. You cannot edit or delete the row. Yellow row: one of the data is missing. Green row: both the logical and physical data are present.
Expected 3D Equipment	Displays the name of the expected physical equipment based on the logical connections. An empty cell means that the analysis could not return a candidate.	: only one candidate is retrieved. : no candidate is retrieved.
Current 3D Equipment	Displays the name of the physical equipment based on the physical connections.	: the Current 3D Equipment is the same as the Expected 3D Equipment. : the Current 3D Equipment is different from the Expected 3D Equipment. : either the physical equipment is missing or the physical connections are missing.
Expected 3D Port	Displays the names of the physical ports. The names of the ports come from either: The L2P_Compute3DPort business rule. For more information, see Compute 3D Port (L2P_Compute3DPort). The names of the ports that are on the logical object.	: the names of the ports are retrieved. : no name is retrieved.
3D Port	Displays the names of the ports of the physical equipment.	: the 3D Port value is the same as the Expected 3D Port value. : the 3D Port value is different from the Expected 3D Port value. : no name is retrieved.
Expected 3D Reference Type	Displays the type of the physical reference that is defined as the Expected 3D Reference.	—

Commands for Electrical Devices

The following commands are available in the Electrical Device tab.

Set 3D Reference	Lets you select an Expected 3D Reference from the catalog or the database. For more information, see Selecting 3D References.		—
Set Parent	Lets you select a physical system in the tree or create a product to define as the Expected 3D Parent of the physical equipment. For more information, see Selecting Parents.		—
Auto Place	Places automatically the Expected 3D Reference. For more information, see Placing a 3D Object Using Auto Place.		Are available if you select a row that contains: The Expected 3D Parent that is editable The Expected 3D Reference No physical equipment
Manual Place	Lets you place manually the Expected 3D Reference For more information, see Placing 3D Objects Manually.	
Move	Moves the physical electrical device. For more information, see Moving 3D Objects.		Is available if you select a row in which: The physical electrical device exists. The physical electrical is not the subordinate of a master physical object.
Replace	Replaces the Current 3D Reference with the Expected 3D Reference. For more information, see Replacing 3D References.		Is available if you select a row in which: The physical electrical device exists. The Expected 3D Reference is different from the Current 3D Reference. The L2P_ValidateActionsAvailability business rule allows this action for the physical instance. For more information, see Validate Availability of Actions for L2P Assistant (L2P_ValidateActionsAvailability).
Delete	Removes the physical electrical device from the selected row. For more information, see Deleting 3D Objects.		Are available if you select a row in which: The physical electrical device exists. The L2P_ValidateActionsAvailability business rule allows this action for the physical instance. For more information, see Validate Availability of Actions for L2P Assistant (L2P_ValidateActionsAvailability).
Synchronize	Updates the attributes of the physical electrical device in the selected row. Synchronize also searches the ports that are compatible, and connects them automatically. If they are already connected to an object, no automatic connection happens. For more information, see Synchronizing the Attributes of the Physical Objects.	
Reconcile	Creates an implement link between a logical equipment and a physical equipment. Reconcile has two modes: automatic and manual. In both cases, the candidates respect the following mandatory criteria: The object candidates come from the first reference-reference implement link context. The object candidates do not have an existing links to any objects. Another optional criteria can also apply to search the candidates in both cases: The name of the object matches with the name of the object candidate. For manual reconciliation, if a predefined part number is assigned, the following criteria also applies: The predefined part number of the logical object matches with the part number of the physical object. For more information, see Create an Implement Link.		Is available if you select a row in which no implement link already exists.
Delete Links	Deletes the implement link that exists between a logical electrical device and a physical electrical device. For more information, see Delete an Implement Link.		Is available if you select a row in which an implement link exists.
Change Parent	Moves the physical electrical device from the Current 3D Parent to the Expected 3D Parent. For more information, see Assigning New Parents to Physical Objects.		Is available if you select rows in which the Expected 3D Parent is different from the Current 3D Parent of the physical electrical device.
Set Predefined Part Number	Lets you define a predefined part number on your logical instance.		Is available only in the Electrical Systems Design app. For more information, see Electrical Systems Design User's Guide: Assigning a Predefined Part Number to Logical Objects.
