Converting Regular Branches into Flat Cables

You can convert a regular branch into a flat cable.

Before you begin: Create an electrical branch geometry and a first branch. See Inserting an Electrical Branch Geometry and First Branch. This branch is already routed on a segment connection point containing flat cable properties.

  1. From the Branch section of the action bar, click Classic Branch Definition and click Route Definition.
    The Branch Definition dialog box appears.
  2. Click Route Definition.

    To obtain a flat cable, the branch must be routed through a segment connection point containing section properties (flat cable parameters).

  3. Select the connector containing the segment connection point (ConnectorFlatCable.1 in our example) and the Apply Rectangular Profile to Branch contextual command in the Route Definition dialog box.
