About the Detailed Profile Management Capabilities

A multiprofile branch is a branch whose segments have different profiles set on the route elements and extremities. Within Immersive Branch Definition, the Detailed Profile Management command allows you to create and edit multiprofile branches.

Set and Unset a Profile

The profile type can be set or unset on each route element of a segment. However, it is not possible to unset a profile on a segment extremity point.

The profile type can be selected either in the Detailed Profile Management panel or on the context toolbar. Available types are:

Circle
Ellipse
Rectangle
Truncated Rectangle

Two additional buttons, and , are available in the 3D area or in the panel's Preview section to flip the corner position of the truncated rectangle.

Clicking unsets the profile of the selected route element.

Modify a Profile Dimensions

For each type of profile, the dimensions and the area can be edited using the following methods:

  • Drag the manipulators in the 3D area or in the panel's Preview section.
  • Enter precise values in the panel's Profile section.
  • Enter a precise value in the Length editor after selecting a manipulator in the 3D area.

About the profile area

When you edit the dimensions of a profile, its area is updated accordingly. In the panel, clicking Lock/Unlock allows to keep the same area despite the modification of the profile dimensions.

Note: Locking the area is not possible when editing the diameter of a Circle type profile.

When you select the segment to edit, clicking Set/Unset Uniform Area allows to propagate the area of an edited profile to all the other profiles of the segment. The resulting shape depends on the Segment Profile option you set in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Electrical and Electronic Systems > Electrical 3D Design.

Rotate a Profile

A profile can be rotated using the following methods:

  • Drag the angle manipulator in the 3D area or in the panel's Preview section.
  • Enter a precise angle rotation value in the panel's Rotation section.
    Tips: In this section, you can also:
    • Click or to easily rotate the profile of a 90 degree angle to the right or to the left.
    • Select another reference axis for the rotation. For more information, see Reference Axis.

Invert a Profile Orientation

A profile can be rotated of 180 degree by clicking Invert Profile Orientation .

Propagate a Profile

The properties of a profile can be applied to another profile.

After clicking Activate/Deactivate Profile Propagation :

  • Selecting a route element or segment extremity propagates the profile only to this selection.
  • Selecting the segment propagates the profile to every route element and to the segment extremities.

Import a Profile

When two segment extremity points share a common extremity (for example, a branch point), the profile's properties of one segment extremity point can be copied to the other point with or without link:

Allows to import the profile from one extremity point to the other with no link. Each profile can then be modified independently.
Allows to import the profile from one extremity point to the other with a link. Only one profile is set for both extremity points. When the profile is edited, the shape of both segments is impacted.
Allows to remove the link between two segment extremity points.
