Aligning Segments

You can align segments using the Rotate and Roll commands from the Prepare Layout.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Select Show copilot check box under Copilot Management, available in the Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Equipment > Electrical Discipline > Electrical Harness Flattening > General expander. For more information, see Copilot management.

Align Segments using the Symbols

When rotating a segment you can choose to align it to other segments with the help of the parallelism and perpendicularity symbols.

  1. From the Formboard section of the action bar, click Prepare Layout .
    A context toolbars appears with the Undo, selection mode and Electrical Manufacturing Preparation commands.
  2. On the context toolbars, click Rotate .
  3. Click the required segment to rotate.
  4. Rotate the segment.
    The parallelism and perpendicularity symbols appear.



  5. Click the work area background to validate the alignment.
  6. Click Prepare Layout to exit the command.

Align Segments Using the Pin

When rolling or rotating a segment, you can use a pin to align it to the parallel direction of a reference segment, line, axis, or edge.

  1. From the Formboard section of the action bar, click .
  2. On the context toolbar, click Rotate .
  3. Click the required segment to rotate.
  4. Hover over another segment.
    A pin appears.

  5. Click the pin.
    The first segment is now parallel to the second one.

  6. Click the work area background to validate the alignment.
  7. Click Prepare Layout to exit the command.

    Note: The rotating segment is aligned to the reference segment, line, axis, or edge in the direction that has an absolute angle inferior to 90° with respect to the rotating segment current position.
