Merging and Breaking Routes with Sheet Connectors

You can merge two routables, each of which has a sheet connector extremity. You can also break a routable and disconnect the paired sheet connectors.

This task shows you how to:

Merge Routes with Sheet Connectors

During the merging process, one of the routables is deleted and the two sheet connectors are paired.

Note: This command is not available for:

Before you begin: Create two diagram views containing an equipment connected by a route which ends as a sheet connector.

Activate the diagram view (Diagram View 1).
Click the sheet connector.
On the context toolbar, select Link OffSheet and Merge Routables .
In the tree, click the sheet containing the second diagram view.
A window displaying the content of the second diagram view appears.

Note: This window remains opened and can be used afterward for other actions.
Click the off-sheet connector.
The two routes are merged. The routable from the active diagram view is deleted in the tree. The second routable refers to the route connected to the selected off-sheet symbol. If you have defined a text template on the route, it is updated. On and off sheet management and cross-references resolution are triggered.

This scenario shows you how to merge routes with sheet connector using the Check Offsheets dialog box.

Activate the diagram view (Diagram View 1).
Click the sheet connector.
On the context toolbar, select Link OffSheet and Merge Routables .
In the Check Offsheets dialog box, select a routable and click Merge Sheet Connector.
The two routes are merged:
- The routable from the active diagram view is deleted in the tree.
- The second routable refers to the route connected to the selected off-sheet symbol.
If you have defined a text template on the route, it is updated. On and off sheet management and cross-references resolution are triggered.

You can break a routable in two independent routables and disconnect the paired sheet connectors.

Activate a diagram view containing one of the two sheet connectors.
Click the sheet connector and select Unlink OffSheet and Break Routables .
The route connected to the selected sheet connector is updated to refer to the newly created routable. This new routable is an instantiation of the selected routable, under the parent of the existing routable. The previous routable is kept for the other sheet connector.
Both sheet connectors representations are replaced by the default representation and text templates are updated.
