Creating an Electrical Port

You can create the following electrical logical ports:

  • A pin
  • A shell connector port
  • An equipment connector port
  • A terminal

For the purpose of this scenario, you will create a logical equipment connector port.

About Electrical Logical Systems
  1. In the tree or in the diagram view, right-click the electrical component and select Create Logical Port .
  2. In the New Content dialog box, expand the Electrical Logical tab and right-click Logical Connector Port.
  3. Optional: Select the Set attributes at creation option.

    Note: This option remains selected when creating the same type of component.

  4. Click Logical Connector Port.
  5. In the Logical Connector Port dialog box, enter a name.
  6. Select a direction for your electrical port: In, Out, In/Out or No Direction.

  7. Click OK in the Logical Connector Port dialog box.
    The System Type Association dialog box appears.

    By default, the No System Type option is selected.

  8. Select one of the following options:
    • No System Type: to associate your logical port with no system type.
    • Associate Existing System Type: to associate your logical port with an existing system type.
    • Associate New System Type: to associate your logical port with a new system type.

  9. Click Finish to create the port and close the System Type Association dialog box.
    The electrical port is created in the tree and appears in the diagram view.
