- Activate the diagram view.

From the Edition section of the action bar, click Create New Reference .

In the tree or in the diagram view, select the logical reference.
The
New Content
dialog box appears. - Expand the Electrical Logical tab and
right-click Logical Disconnect.

Optional: Select the
Set attributes at creation option.
Note:
This option remains selected when creating the same type
of component.

Click Logical Disconnect.
The Logical Disconnect dialog box appears.

In the Logical Disconnect tab,
type a name.
- Optional: To create the content of the disconnect, select the Content tab and complete the following boxes:
- Select the type of pin to be created in the Type list.
- Select the number of pins to be created in the Number box.
- Optional: Type a prefix for the pins' names in the Prefix box.
Note:
You can define forbidden characters through the Pin Name Forbidden Characters resource of the Data Setup to forbid the use of certain characters. If the name of the pin contains forbidden characters, you cannot validate the creation. When creating several pins, the forbidden characters are skipped.
- Type the name of the pins in the First Name box.
Note:
If there is more than one pin, the names of other pins are automatically generated based on the name entered for the first pin
- Optional: Type a suffix for the pins' names in the Suffix box.
- Click Add.
The pins appear in the Pins To Be Created area. Note:
To remove pins, select them in the Pins To Be Created area and click Remove.
- Click OK.
Note:
When creating a disconnect, two connector ports are created. Each port has a Style attribute in its properties identifying it as plug or receptacle. For more information about disconnects, see Disconnect Symbol.
A disconnect is created under the logical reference. Under the Extensions node, note that a Connector node is created to store all the connectors. In our example, it aggregates a connector node containing the disconnect. -
Click the diagram view at the convenient place to insert the symbol.
The symbol is placed and a context toolbar appears.

Optional:
To modify the position of the symbol, select one of the following
commands:

Flip horizontally

Flip vertically
- Rotate to left by 90 degrees
- Rotate to right by 90 degrees
