Managing Electrical Nets and Net Groups

You can gather nets and/or net groups within a net group.

Before you begin:

For the purpose of this scenario:

  • Group the nets under NetGroup1.
  • Move NetGroup1 under NetGroup2.
  • Remove a net from NetGroup1.

  1. From the Edition section of the action bar, click Net Group Links .
  2. In the tree, select the net group (NetGroup1).
  3. In the tree, select the nets (Net1, Net2 and Net3) to be grouped under the net group NetGroup1.

    Important: A net or a net group that is already inserted under a net group cannot be selected.



  4. Deactivate Net Group Links .
    You will now insert NetGroup1 under NetGroup2.
  5. Reactivate Net Group Links .
  6. In the tree, select NetGroup2.
  7. Select NetGroup1 to insert it under NetGroup2.
    From the logical Extensions node, NetGroup1 is now displayed under NetGroup2.

  8. Deactivate Net Group Links .
    You will now remove a net from NetGroup1.
  9. Reactivate Net Group Links .
  10. Select the net group NetGroup1.
    The nets that are inserted under the net group NetGroup1 are highlighted.
  11. Click Net3.
    Net3 is removed from NetGroup2.
