Creating a BOM Markup

You can create BOM markups from a BOM view based on the as-stored child part revisions or latest child part revision display. BOM markups can be created for a part and associated with a CR or CO.

Required Access roles:

  • Baseline: Author or Leader.
  • App-specific: Design Engineer or Senior Design Engineer

Before you begin:

Access the EBOM page for a part. See Part Bill of Materials.

Applying a BOM Markup
  1. From the page toolbar, click Enable Edit Mode.
  2. Make changes to the BOM using in-cell editing or using the commands from the page Actions menu or toolbar. You can change the BOM only one level at a time since there can be different CRs/COs associated at different levels. See Editing Part Bill of Materials.
  3. From the page Markup menu, click Save Markup or Save Markup As to save the markup and select a change order. For details on these commands, see About BOM Markups.
    • Save Markup As creates a markup and lets you select a different name for the markup.
    • Save Markup creates as many markups as the number of parent parts affected.
    1. If you save markup using Save Markup As, select the immediate parent part of the edited child part(s), select Save Markup As, and enter a Name for the markup. If two or more edited child parts do not share the same immediate parent, select and apply Save Markup As separately for each parent part.
    2. Click next to Change to search for and select a change object to govern the change. The search results include COs in the Draft/Propose states and CRs in the Create/Evaluate states. Select a change object and click Submit.
    3. Type a Description.
    4. Click Done.

A related change action (CA) is connected to the part and BOM markup.
