Editing Specification Details

CAD models, CAD drawings, part specifications, and drawing prints are all specifications.

To edit specification details:

  • App-Specific roles: Users assigned to either the Manufacturing Engineer, Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Product Obsolescence Manager, Part Family Coordinator, Design Engineer, or Senior Design Engineer role can change basic details and attributes that are specific to a CAD model, CAD drawing, or drawing print.
  • Baseline roles:
    • An Author can edit specifications if the specification and associated part, if any, are both in the In Work state. The Author must also be connected to or assigned to the same collaborative state that contains the specification.
    • A Leader can edit specifications in that are in the In Work or Frozen state. The Leader must also be connected to or assigned to the same collaborative state that contains the specification.
    • The specification owner can edit the specification in any lifecycle state.
  • For customer-specific environment (CSE) roles, the specification cannot be updated beyond the In Work state.

Note: CAD drawings and CAD model specifications must be attached to a change order to be promoted.
