Sharing Specifications

A specification can be a CAD model, CAD drawing, drawing print, part specification, or sketch and can be shared among multiple owners. You can add or remove users from a sharing list for a specification. You can also assign ownership attributes and set access levels on the sharing list for a specification.

Sharing Specification

You can share to a specification with collaborative spaces, groups, or specific users.

  1. Create a specification or search for and open an existing specification.
  2. Select the Sharing category.
  3. In the toolbar, click the one:

    • - Share with specific users
    • - Share with groups
    • - Share with collaborative space

  4. In the Search window, select one or more users, groups, or collaoboratives spaces and click OK.
    The Sharing view lists the members who have been added.

The selected members appear in the Sharing list for the specification. The user to whom ownership was assigned will see the specification in their My Engineering view.

Remove Owners From a Sharing List

You can remove members from Sharing list for a specification.

  1. Search for and open an existing specification.
  2. Select the Sharing category.
  3. In the list, select one or more members to be removed.
  4. Click the Delete Access icon.

The selected members no longer appear on the Sharing list for the specification.

Set Login Credentials

You can provide access to a specification for users who belong to one or more organizations and collaborative spaces that you specify.

  1. Create a specification or search for and open an existing specification.
  2. Select the Sharing category.
  3. Select Add Security Context. The Search window opens.
  4. Select one or more check boxes in the list and click OK.

Set Access Level

You can set Read, Read and Connect, Read Write, or Revise access to a specification for each member and/or organizations, projects, or collaborative spaces.

  1. Click the Enable Edit icon.
  2. In the Access column, select an access level option in the drop-down list for one or more members listed in the table.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Click the Disable Edit icon.

    Note: Access Level Edit for the Primary row (Organization) cannot be changed.
