About Services Product Manager

The Services Product Manager license role provides full access to Services Management and Services Product Business Metrics. A Services Product Manager owns and drives the creation and management of Services Products from idea to retirement.

Services Product Manager includes all of the functionality of Services Product Developer and Services Product Contributor, plus more.

Services Product Manager is the license used by people who are responsible for creating products, tracking projects, and defining configurations and IP classification. In addition, Services Product Manager includes Change Management to use change-control to manage new product introduction (release) and revision processes. With this license, you can perform these tasks:

  • Create and manage Business Initiative Project, Product Development Project, and Product Management Project templates.
  • Create and manage Business Initiative Project, Product Development Project, and Product Management Projects.
  • Manage content (Services Specifications, Services Documents, Business Documents, and generated documents).
  • Define languages for specifications and documents.
  • Create and manage Services Products.
  • Manage Candidate Markets.
  • Create and manage Configuration Features, Configuration Rules, and Product Configurations.
  • Set effectivity on products, specifications, and documents.
  • Configure and manage change management for releasing and revising products.
  • Hide Product Classifications and define product composition rules (if you also have the Administrator access role).

Services Product Manager works with other apps and lets you perform these tasks:

  • Project Management
    • Create and perform all actions for Programs.
    • Create and perform all actions for Business Goals
    • Create and perform all actions for Projects, including member roles, schedules, dependencies, constraints, gates, assessments, governed items, experiments, baselines, subprojects and related projects,
    • Create and perform all actions for Folders
    • Create and perform all actions for Tasks
    • Create Meetings and Decisions, including agenda items
    • Create and view project dashboards and project reports
    • Create and perform all actions for Risks and Issues
    • Create Routes for Projects and Tasks
    • Create and perform all actions for CTQ (Critical To Quality)
    • Create and perform all tasks associated with Project Budgets, Financial Forecasts, Resource Planning, and weekly Time Sheets
