About Using Services Management with Report Template Design

You can use Report Template Design to define templates used to generate documents for Services Products and Services Items. In addition, you can define a language option to generate a document in specific languages. For more information, see Report Template Design User's Guide.

Report Templates

To access Report Template Design, follow these steps:

  1. From the Compass, click Report Template Administrator.
  2. In the list of apps, click Report Template Design.

To configure report templates in Report Template Design, follow these general guidelines:

  • In the Parameter section, select Services Product or Services Specification (or other type) as the type. If the type you want does not show in the list, an Administrator can add it. For more information, see Adding Types for Report Template Design.
  • Define the template as usual, adding sections, text, attributes, tables, links, and so on.
  • You can use Product Configurations, which include Services Items, as a filter on the Data tab.
  • To add a language:
    1. In the Parameter section, add a new variable with Language as the type.
    2. Click the Data tab and expand Services Product, and then Financial Services.
    3. In the Parameters box, enter the variable defined in Step 1 for the language.

If a language variable is not specified, all product specifications or reference documents are returned. For more information, see Creating a Template in the Report Template Design Guide.

Adding Types for Report Template Design

If Services Product or Services Specification (whichever type of report you want to define the template for) does not show in the list of types, you can follow these steps to add them. You must be logged in as an Administrator to update the global preferences. You can override the global preferences for specific reports for your own usage. For more information, see Customizing Preferences for Design Tasks in the Report Template Design Guide.

  1. From the top bar, select Me > ENOVIA Preferences.
  2. In the left pane, scroll to find and click Report Template Designer.
  3. Click Properties..

    The right pane loads the properties, including the Default input types.

  4. Click .
  5. In the list of Available Types, select Services Product, Services Specification, and Services Item and click .
  6. Click Done. You can now use these types to define report templates.
