Generated Documents

You can view the list of generated documents for Services Products, Services Items, or Services Projects. The documents are usually compilations of specifications, reference documents, and nested products (for Services Products), composed items (for Services Items), or deliverables (for Services Projects). The structure and content of the reports are defined by the report template managed in Report Template Design.

Required license role: Services Product Manager, Services Product Developer, Services Product Contributor

Users with the Services Product Business Metrics or Review and Approve license roles can view the generated documents, but cannot perform any other actions on the documents.

To access this page:

  1. Open the required Services Product, Services Item, or Services Project. For more information, see Opening a Services Product, Services Item Properties, or Opening a Services Project.
  2. In the navigation pane, click to list the categories.
  3. In the navigation pane, click Content.
  4. Click Generated Documents.

Columns

Column Description
Name An automatically-generated name for the document
Title The title defined when creating the report.
Rev The revision level of the report
Ver The version of the report.
Type The object type: Services Document.
Description The description of the report contents.
State

Shows up to 3 lines for the previous, current, and next lifecycle states. The current state is highlighted, and you can click it to open the Lifecycle page. If you only see 2 lines, the item is in its first or last state. Hover over the state to view the available actions:

Action Description
Promote the item to the next state.
Demote the item to its previous state.
Promote the item to its final state.
Note: Hover actions are not available on mobile devices.

Actions Shows the actions you can perform on the document:
  • Download to download the report to your computer.
Document Classification The classification for the document. Your Administrator defines the available classifications.
Language The language that the generated documents are written in.
Status Shows green if the report is up-to-date; shows orange otherwise.

Actions/Toolbar Commands

Command Description
Update Generated Document Reruns the Generate Document command with the same attributes used when the report was originally generated. The updated report shows all the same information, except the next version level.
Delete Deletes the selected reports. Click OK to confirm.
