Services Item Properties

You can view the details of Services Items.

Required license role: Services Product Manager, Services Product Developer, Services Product Contributor, Services Product Business Metrics, Review and Approve

To access this page:

  1. Open the required Services Item. For more information, see Opening a Services Item.
  2. In the navigation pane, click to list the categories.
  3. In the navigation pane, click Details.

Fields

Field Name Description
Marketing Name The marketing name for this Services Item.
Name The name for the Services Item.
Type The business object type: Services Item.
Services Item Classification The product classification inherited from the based on Services Product.
Policy The policy that governs the lifecycle of the Services Item.
Owner The person responsible for the Services Item.
Sponsor A person who endorses this product.
Saleable Yes if the Services Item can be sold. No if the Services Item will not be sold by itself.
Marketing Text Descriptive text used by marketing for this Services Item.
Description Details that describe the Services Item.
Detailed Description A more extensive description of the Services Item and can include custom formatting, images, and tables.

In edit mode, the toolbar buttons work the same as most word processing apps. You can click Switch Toolbar to expand the Detailed Description box, and to access the full toolbar. If you switch toolbars, you must switch back to save your changes.

Start Effectivity The date when the effectivity of this Services Item starts.
End Effectivity The date when the effectivity of this Services Item should end.
Milestone If the Services Product selected for Based On has a governing project, shows the milestone at which the effectivity for this Services Item begins.
Sales Intent Indicates how the Services Item is intended to be used to sell the product:
  • Standard Configuration: Can be sold in the market and appears in a product catalog.
  • Custom Configuration: Created for one customer and is not available in the product catalog.
Purpose Indicates how the Services Item will be used:
  • Evaluation: For internal engineering, for example, to test configuration rules.
  • Order: For sale to customers.
  • Accessory: The default for Services Items based on configuration features.
Based On The name of the Services Product on which this Services Item is based.
Derived From The Services Item from which this Services Item is derived.
Overall Completeness Status Indicates how complete the Product Configuration is based on the configuration completion status, and if the rules are valid and activated.
Rules Compliancy Status Indicates whether the Services Item is compliant with configuration rules:
  • Valid: Selected options are all compatible. No conflict was found.
  • Invalid: Some selected options are not compatible. They are in conflict with one or more rules defined in the system.
  • Unknown: No status was computed. Rules are disabled.
Configuration Completeness Status Indicates how complete the Services Item is:
  • Partial: At least one "must select" feature does not have a value, part of the product definition is missing—the resulting product is partial.
  • Complete: All "must select" features have a value and "single select" features have no more than one option selected—the resulting product is coherent and complete.
  • Hybrid: At least one "single select" feature has multiple options selected, so the resulting product is a mix of several valid products—it is hybrid.
Design Validation Status Results of executing Validate Design Rules for the Services Item:

  • Validation Passed
  • Not Validated
  • Validation Failed

If a rule was modified after the Services Item was validated, this field still shows Validation Passed. If you try to promote the Services Item, the validation is run again. If the validation fails, this field is updated to Validation Failed and the promotion is blocked.

Originator The person who originally created the Services Item.
Originated The date the Services Item was created.
Modified The last time the Services Item was changed in some way.

Actions/Toolbar Commands

You must have the Services Product Manager, Services Product Developer, or Services Product Contributor license role to perform these actions.

Action Description
Edit Details Switches to edit mode. Make any required changes and click Done.
Promote to GA Promotes the Services Item to general availability.
Cancel Cancels the Services Item.

Validation Menu

Action Description
Check Completeness Checks if the Services Item has been completely defined. Opens a message box listing any items, such as nested products, cardinality requirements, or configuration options, have not been completed. Click OK to close the message.
