Deleting and Detaching Objects

You can delete folders and objects (references, representations, and so on) from 3DEXPERIENCE or detach them from the folder structure, in the work area.

Deleting a Folder from 3DEXPERIENCE

You can delete a folder from 3DEXPERIENCE in the work area.

  1. In the work area, expand the folder structure that contains the folder you want to delete.
  2. Select the folder you want to delete from 3DEXPERIENCE.
  3. Do either of the following:
    • Right-click the selected folder and click Delete or press the Delete key.
    • Right-click the 3D representation of the selected folder and click Delete or press the Delete key.

The folder is deleted from 3DEXPERIENCE.

Deleting a Root Folder from 3DEXPERIENCE in the Search Results Page

You can only delete root folders from 3DEXPERIENCE from the search results.

  1. Search for a root folder in the Search section of the top bar.
  2. In the Search Results , select a root folder.
    Note: You can select more that one root folder to delete from 3DEXPERIENCE
  3. Navigate to the Lifecycle section of the action bar and click Delete
    A Warning dialog box appears.
  4. Click OK.

The root folder is deleted from 3DEXPERIENCE

Detaching Objects from the Folder Structure

You can detach objects, including folders, references, representations, and other objects from a folder in the folder structure using Remove

  1. In the work area, expand the folder structure that contains the folder you want to delete.
  2. Select the object you want to detach.
  3. Do either of the following:
    • Right-click the selected object and click Remove Item .
    • Right-click the 3D representation of the selected object and click Remove Item .
    • Navigate to the Edit section of the action bar and click Remove Item .

The object is detached from the folder structure.
