Creating a Function or Logical Component with a Dymola Behavior Containing a Dymola Model Example

You can create a function or logical component with a Dymola behavior containing a Dymola model example.

This scenario is useful in two ways:

  • It is an example how to quickly build a simple Modelica behavior.
  • It allow you to be able to quickly be able to investigate the features of Dymola Behavior Modeling behaviors available in the Functional & Logical Design app.

Important: This scenario describes how you insert an example from Modelica Standard Library which is by default always open. If you need to insert an example from a library not open, see the note in Step 3.

  1. If the Functional & Logical Design app is not open, do the following:
    1. From the Compass, click 3D Modeling Apps .
    2. Expand 3DEXPERIENCE Roles and Apps.
    3. Expand My 3D Modeling apps.
    4. Select Functional & Logical Design.
  2. Create a function or logical component with a Dymola behavior. Follow Creating a Function or Logical Component with a Behavior.
You have created a function or logical component with a Dymola behavior, and you have opened the Dymola Behavior Modeling app.
  3. From the Package Browser, expand the nodes, in turn, Modelica > Mechanics > Rotational > Examples.

Important: This scenario describes how you insert an example from Modelica Standard Library which is by default always open. If you need to insert a component from a library not open, you must first open that library to be able to insert examples from it. For information about opening a Dymola behavior library see Dymola Behavior Modeling Users Guide: Working with Behavior Libraries: Opening a Dymola Behavior Library.

Note that when you open with search, you open a new tab, but if you go back to the original tab, the library is now present also in the Package Browser of that tab.

You see the model examples of this package.
  4. From the Package Browser, drag CoupledClutches to the diagram.
You have instantiated this model example as a component in your behavior.
  5. To save the changes, from the top bar, select Share > Save.

For more information about saving, see Native Apps Top Bar.

You have built a function or logical component containing a Dymola behavior with the Dymola model example "Coupled Clutches" as a component.
