Editing a Dymola Behavior or a Context Behavior

You can edit a Dymola behavior or a Context behavior within the Dymola Behavior Modeling app.

Note: You can change the top level parameters of Dymola behaviors without entering the Dymola Behavior Modeling app. See Editing Parameter Values in Dymola Behaviors.

This task shows you how to:

Edit a Dymola Behavior by a Command

You can edit a Dymola behavior by a command. This is useful when you work in the schematic view and want to edit a Dymola behavior.

Note: This command does not work on Context behaviors.

Before you begin:
  • You must have a Dymola behavior in your model.
  • The behavior you want to edit must be the current one.
  • You need a Dymola Behavior Modeling license to edit a Dymola behavior.
  • Select the component containing the Dymola behavior.
  1. Select the component containing the Dymola behavior.
  2. From the Behaviors section of the action bar, click Edit Dymola Behavior .
    The behavior is opened in the Dymola Behavior Modeling app.
  3. Edit the behavior.
  4. To save the changes, from the top bar, select Share > Save.

  5. To leave the Dymola Behavior Modeling app, from the action bar, click Exit App .

Edit a Dymola Behavior or a Context Behavior by a Context Menu Command

You can edit a Dymola behavior or Context behavior by a context menu command in the tree.

Before you begin:
  • You must have a Dymola behavior or Context behavior in your model.
  • You need a Dymola Behavior Modeling license to edit a Dymola or Context behavior.
  1. In the tree, expand the function or component, and do any of:
    • For a Dymola behavior, right-click the MainModel node, and select MainModel (path) object > Edit.
    • For a Context behavior, right-click the ContextModel node, and select ContextModel (path) object > Edit.

    Tip: You can also double-click the MainModel or the ContextModel node.

    The behavior is opened in the Dymola Behavior Modeling app.
  2. Edit the behavior.
  3. To save the changes, from the top bar, select Share > Save.

  4. To leave the Dymola Behavior Modeling app, from the action bar, click Exit App .

Edit a Dymola Behavior or a Context Behavior by Double-clicking the Behavior Name in the Diagram

You can edit a Dymola behavior or Context behavior by double-clicking the behavior name in the diagram.

Before you begin:
  • You must have a Dymola behavior or Context behavior in your model.
  • You need a Dymola Behavior Modeling license to edit a Dymola or Context behavior.
  1. To display the behaviors, click the behavior list icon in the diagram.

    You can do this in a function or in a logical component.

    The behavior names appear. The following images show an example of a behavior from a function, and from a logical component:



  2. Double-click the name of the behavior you want to edit.
    The behavior is opened in the Dymola Behavior Modeling app.
  3. Edit the behavior.
  4. To save the changes, from the top bar, select Share > Save.

  5. To leave the Dymola Behavior Modeling app, from the action bar, click Exit App .
