Creating a Post

You can create a post. The posts are the conical ribs created from non-construction point entities contained in the selected profiles sketch.

  1. From the Create section of the action bar, click Rib .
  2. In the Profile/Surface box of the Rib.x dialog box, select a sketch containing a number of points in the geometry.
  3. Under First Limit, in the Length box, enter the value.
  4. In the Posts tab, select the Create Posts at points check box.
    The app detects the points contained in the selected sketch.
  5. In the Diameter box, enter a value to define the rib post diameter which must be greater than zero. Each non-construction point within the selected profile sketch is used as the center point for the diameter.
  6. In the Taper angle box, enter an angular value.

    The taper angle applies to each rib post. A non-zero angle results in the post taking the geometric form of a truncated cone.

    Important: Posts are not affected by the data you enter in features draft tabs.

  7. From the Reference list, select First Limit.
  8. Click Limits and in the First Limit tab, from the Type list, select To Plane/Surface and select Up to Surface in the tree.
