Specifying Ramp Parameters

You can specify ramp parameters to determine how the access ramps will be arranged along the perimeter walls of the pit. Pit Parameters enable you to specify ramp parameters for creating the access ramps along the perimeter walls of the pit.

Before you begin:
  • Adjust the design range and magnitude preference options. See Customizing Preferences.
  • Adjust the contours color preferences. See Toe and Crest Colors.
  • Import Earth Engineering files in an open site or create a site product that contains a terrain and Earth Engineering data.
  • Create a Mine Surface object in the site product. See Creating a Site for Mine 3D Design.
  • Specify the ramp parameters in the Ramp Parameters section of the Pit Parameters dialog box.

About Ramps and Haulage Roads
  1. From the Surface Mine section of the action bar, click Pit Parameters .
  2. Expand the Ramp Parameters section of the Pit Parameters dialog box.
  3. From the Ramp Rate options, select the following:
    OptionDescription
    % Selects a percentage, a real.
    Angle Selects an angle.
    1/10 Selects an integer.
  4. Specify values for Ramp width and Minimum radius. These should match the minimum radius for curves allowing a truck to turn.

After creation, the Ramp Parameters section is updated accordingly. You can access all parameters using the knowledge tools. For example, you can link them with formulas or modify them using EKL scripts.
