Regulating Access to Geoscience Data

You can regulate access to the Geoscience datasets based on the Geoscience role of the user. Each platform user of the Geoscience Interpretation app is assigned a role. The roles are not assigned to users directly; instead they depend on licenses and access-right abilities of the user. To manage Geoscience dataset access control, users can use two Geoscience roles which model the access hierarchy.

Apply a Geoscience Leader Role

You can apply a Geoscience leader role to a new user.

  1. In the Members Control Center app, on the Invite & Grant Roles tab, click the Invite members icon to add roles for a new user.
  2. In the Members section, in the User email field enter a valid mail address of the user.
  3. From the User right list, select the Administrator option.
  4. Click Next.
  5. In the Roles section, select the following roles:
    • Collaborative Business Innovator (IFW)
    • Collaborative Industry Innovator (CSV)
    • Geology Modeler (GML)
  6. Click Next.
  7. In the Additional Apps section, click Invite.
    An invite is sent to the user.

The Geoscience Leader role is assigned to the user.

Apply a Geoscience Author Role

You can apply a Geoscience author role to a new user.

  1. In the Members Control Center app, on the Invite & Grant Roles tab, click the Invite members icon to add roles for a new user.
  2. In the Members section, in the User email field enter a valid mail address of the user.
  3. From the User right list, select the Member option.
  4. Click Next.
  5. In the Roles section, select the following roles:
    • Collaborative Business Innovator (IFW)
    • Collaborative Industry Innovator (CSV)
    • Geology Modeler (GML)
  6. Click Next.
  7. In the Additional Apps section, click Invite.
    An invite is sent to the user.

The Geoscience Author role is assigned to the user.

Change the Role of an Existing User

You can change the Geoscience role of an existing user.

  1. In the Members Control Center app, on the Invite & Grant Roles tab, click the Details icon to edit roles of an existing user.
  2. In the Roles tab of the dialog box, modify the user right of the user to Administrator or Member.
  3. In the Search Roles field, search and select the following roles:
    • Collaborative Business Innovator (IFW)
    • Collaborative Industry Innovator (CSV)
    • Geology Modeler (GML)

The Geoscience role is changed according to your selection.
