Placing Contextual Components

You can select the component template and place it at the required location.


Before you begin:
  • Create contextual components and add them to an engineering template.
  • Create a catalog or a library, add the engineering template in the catalog or the library, and assign this catalog/library to the resource table.
  • Create an assembly to place contextual components.

  1. From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Contextual Instantiation .
    The Contextual Positioned Part Instantiation panel appears.
  2. In the Selected Eng Template box, select a template of a component.
    Note: You can click Catalog Browser or Library Browser to select a template of a component.
  3. Under Input, select a face and the points where you want to place the component.
  4. Click OK.
    The components are placed.

Note: You can select predefined values of the parameters in the list, if you have defined an engineering template for them.
