Family Table Designs in Save Dialog Box

You can save family table instances to ENOVIA database which are active in the current session using the Active option, or save all new or modified designs that are in the current session using the All option.

Designs Displayed

The contents displayed in the 3DEXPERIENCE Save dialog box depends on the status of the family or its instances.

Status of Family/Instance being Saved Display in Save dialog box
New family Family and all instances are displayed with the status as NEW.
MODIFIED_TYPECHANGE family Family is displayed with the status as MODIFIED_TYPECHANGE and all instances are displayed with the status as NEW.
Family with active instance modified Displays the family and the active instance as Modified.

All other non-modified instances are not displayed.

Family with only some inactive instances modified Displays the family and modified inactive instances.

All other non-modified instances (active or inactive) are not displayed.

Family with both active and inactive instances modified Displays the family and modified instances (active and inactive).

All other non-modified inactive instances are not displayed.

Family with only family is modified and none of its instances are modified Displays only family.
Family with new instances added to family Displays the NEW instances along with family.

Designs Selected for Save

By default, all new and modified instances, families with NEW, MODIFIED, or MODIFIED_TYPECHANGE status are selected in the ENOVIA Save dialog box.

Note: If a family cannot be selected for save, the instances associated with the family are also not selected for save. If the family node is not selected, none of the instances are selected, and the family table is not saved. For information about setting the save options, see Setting Save Options.

The following table lists the designs that are saved or are selected for save when the default selection is modified:

For a NEW family, when an instance is selected. The family node and its other associated instances are selected.
For a NEW family, when a selected instance is cleared. The associated family node and its other associated instances are cleared.
For a NEW family, when the family node is selected. The family and the associated instances are selected for save.
For a NEW family, when the selected family node is cleared. The associated instances are cleared.
For a MODIFIED_TYPECHANGE family, when an instance is selected. The family node and its other associated instances are also selected.
For a MODIFIED_TYPECHANGE family, when a selected instance is cleared. The associated family node and its other associated instances are cleared.
For a MODIFIED_TYPECHANGE family, when the family node is selected. The associated instances are selected.
For a MODIFIED_TYPECHANGE family, when a selected family node is cleared. The associated instances are cleared.
Family node is selected or cleared for save to ENOVIA. The corresponding instances connected to the family node are selected or cleared.
Only instance nodes are selected for save without the associated family node. The family node, if selectable, is automatically selected for save along with your selection of modified and new instances.

Modified instances other than the selected nodes are not considered for save.

Only the family node is selected for save. Only the family is selected for save. None of the instances (modified or new) are saved.

Design Selected for Include or Exclude Parts

The following table lists the assembly family behaviour for the designs that are included or excluded in the assembly family.

Part Status Description
Exclude

If a part is excluded in the family table, the link between Assembly Factory and excluded part is not created.

This part is not listed in the Open or Checkout dialog box.

Include

If a part is included in the family table, the link between Assembly Factory and included part is created.
