Accessing the Mechanical Systems Experience App

You can create a kinematics simulation in the Mechanical Systems Experience app.

Note: Open the app to create a kinematics simulation automatically

  1. From the Compass, click 3D Modeling apps, and select Mechanical Systems Experience app.
If no product is open, an empty simulation is created.
  2. In the Kinematics Simulation dialog box, select the options to associate the product to the new kinematics simulation:

    • If a mechanism representation does not exist for the product, select the Create a mechanism check box to create one.
Note: Specify the mechanism properties in a subsequent dialog box. For more information, see Mechanism Representations.
    • Select the Create a kinematics scenario check box to create a new simulation scenario when opening the Mechanical Systems Experience app.
Note: For more information, see Creating a Kinematics Scenario.

  3. Click OK.
  4. In the Mechanism Representation dialog box, specify the name and any other appropriate information on the simulation.
  5. Click OK.
The kinematics simulation is created and opens in the Mechanical Systems Experience app. The example below shows a new simulation with an attached product and a kinematics scenario.
Note: If the simulation is empty, attach a product to the simulation. For more information, see Associating a Model with a Simulation.
