Customizing Measures

To suit your requirements, you can customize measures in different ways.

  1. Select the Customize tab to see what is set to be displayed in the information box.
The selectable items of information listed in the 3D and Tab columns can be very different depending on the selected object.
  2. Click More Results>> button to see what is set to appear in the More Results>> section.
  3. Customize the contents of both the information box and the Results section by selecting items to add them or deselecting items to remove them.
As you do this, the contents of the information box changes accordingly.

Important:
  • To modify the color of the measure information box, its border, and the font or size of the text:
    1. Right-click the information box and select Properties.
    2. In the Properties dialog box, click the Measure Properties tab.
For more information see, 3DEXPERIENCE Native Apps User's Guide: Editing Graphic Properties and Native Apps Preferences Guide: Measure Tools.
  • The default unit of measure used is millimeter. However, you can change this in the preferences. To specify the units, select Me > Preferences > Main Preferences > Modeling > Units.
  • If, after a measurement operation but before saving the product/review, you modify the geometry where you created a measure, the measure will not be updated accordingly. The result of any such change to the geometry will therefore be that the measure is no longer up-to-date. However, automatic updating is possible. For more information, see Measure Tools. If the measure is associative, this is indicated by the appearance on the measure of the update symbol (for instance for Measure Item). In this particular case, you can update the measure before saving the Review. To do this, right-click the measure in the tree and select [measure_name] object>Measure Update.
