Changing the Owner of Objects

You can modify the owner of objects.

Important: Only the owner of the selected revision is modified.

Administrators can configure the access roles that can change the owner of objects. For more information, see Rules that Configure Ownership.

Required access roles: Reader, Contributor, Author, Leader, Owner. For more information, see Collaborative Lifecycle for Dashboard Access to Content.

  1. Select one or several objects and click the command..

    Important: If the objects are locked, unlock them first.
    Note: When only one object is loaded in Collaborative Lifecycle for Dashboard, you can select only one revision, branch, or duplicate of this object. For more information, see Loading Objects in Collaborative Lifecycle for Dashboard.

  2. From the Collaboration section of the action bar, click Change Owner .
    The Change Owner dialog box appears.
  3. In the Owner box, start typing the new owner, and select it from the list that appears below.

    Notes:
    • When you click in the Owner box, the users you recently searched are displayed. You must type at least three characters to search for another user.
    • Only the users you are allowed to transfer content to are displayed.

  4. Optional: To add information about the operation, select the Add Message option, and enter your message in the box.
  5. Click Change Owner.
    A progress bar appears.
    Important: If you close the window during the process, the owner will not be modified.

The owner of the selected objects is modified, and the Completion Status column indicates that the operation is successful.
