Creating an Equipment Service Request

When you want to service a reported item, you can create an Equipment Service Request (ESR). You can provide details such as reported item and serial number, describe your requirement, and associate a contact to the ESR. When you create the ESR, the selected reported item is added to it. You can also add more reported items to the ESR.

  1. Perform any one of the following actions.
    • From the top bar, select Add > Complaints & NCs > Create Equipment Service Request.
    • From the Equipment Service Requests List page toolbar, click Create New.
    The Create Equipment Service Request page appears.
  2. Enter the following details.
    Field Name Description
    Type Click to select the type as equipment service request or its subtype. When you select the subtype, the custom attributes that are added to the selected subtype are listed in the Custom Attributes section of the page.

    Problem DescriptionExplain your requirement to service the model.
    Country Of OriginClick and select a country from the Search Results page.
    Reported Item Parent Click and select a parent item from the Search Results page.
    Reported Against Item Click and select an item from the Search Results page. The Search Results page lists all the products, physical products,model versions, and parts.
    Note: If you select the Reported Item Parent, the search results list only products, physical products, model versions, and parts, which are connected with the context reported item parent.
    Serial NumberType the serial number of the reported item.
    Model NumberType the model number of the reported item.
    NameClick and select a contact person from the Search Results page.
    Custom Attributes Type the additional information for the custom attributes that are selected as subtype of the equipment service request.
  3. Optional: To create new contact, perform the following actions.
    1. In the Reporter Details section, set the value of Create New to Yes
    2. Enter the details of the new contact.
  4. Click Done.
    The ESR is created
    Note: You can also click Apply in the Create Equipment Service Request page to create the ESR without closing the page. You can then create another ESR on the same page.

The selected reported item is added to the ESR. The Equipment Service Request Power View page appears.
