Creating an Inquiry

When you want to obtain information about a reported item, you can create an inquiry. You can provide details such as reported item and serial number, describe your requirement, and associate a contact to the inquiry. When you create the inquiry, the selected reported item is added to it. You can also add more reported items to the inquiry.

Converting Inquiries
  1. Perform any one of the following actions.
    • From the top bar, select Add > Complaints & NCs > Create Inquiry.
    • From the Inquiries List page toolbar, click Create New.
    The Create Inquiry page appears.
  2. Enter the following details.
    Field Name Description
    Type Click to select the type as inquiry or its subtype. When you select the subtype, the custom attributes that are added to the selected subtype are listed in the Custom Attributes section of the page.

    Problem DescriptionExplain the type of information your require.
    Country Of OriginClick and select a country from the Search Results page.
    Reported Item Parent Click and select a parent item from the Search Results page.
    Reported Against Item Click and select an item from the Search Results page. The Search Results page lists all the products, physical products,model versions, and parts.
    Note: If you select the Reported Item Parent, the search results list only products, physical products, model versions, and parts, which are connected with the context reported item parent.
    Serial NumberType the serial number of the reported item on which the problem occurred.
    Model NumberType the model number of the reported item.
    NameClick and select a contact person from the Search Results page.
    Custom Attributes Type the additional information for the custom attributes that are selected as subtype of the inquiry.
  3. Optional: To create new contact, perform the following actions.
    1. In the Reporter Details section, set the value of Create New to Yes
    2. Enter the details of the new contact.
  4. Click Done.
    The inquiry is created.
    Note: You can also click Apply in the Create Inquiry page to create the inquiry without closing the page. You can then create another inquiry on the same page.

The selected reported item is added to the inquiry. The Inquiry Power View page appears.
