Substance Thresholds

You can view threshold information for substances. The threshold determines the limit at which a substance or substance classification is compliant or not.

Required access roles:

  • Baseline: Author, Leader, Owner
  • App-specific: Compliance Engineer, Senior Compliance Engineer

To access this page:

  1. Open the required Compliance Definition. For more information, see Opening a Compliance Definition.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Substance Thresholds.

Columns

Column NameDescription
NameThe name of the substance.
CAS NumberThe Chemical Abstracts Service number of the substance.
Threshold CategoryThe category of the threshold. The value can be "Prohibited", "Restricted", "Reportable", "Unrestricted", "Assessment Only", and "Information Only". This value is primarily used for informational purposes so you can identify the potential consequences of exceeding the threshold. It is also used in the substance threshold report to organize the selectable thresholds by threshold category on the input dialog box, and to show the threshold category for any threshold exceeded in the output.
Threshold TypeThe threshold type for the threshold. Values can be "Greater Than" or "Greater Than or Equal".
ThresholdThe threshold at which the substance becomes non-compliant.
Intentionally Added - 0% ThresholdA flag indicating if any amount of substance that when intentionally added to the material causes the material to be non-compliant.
Threshold LevelThe threshold level is either Material, Component, or Part. If not specified, a Material level threshold is assumed.
ApplicationThe application related to the compliance type. If the Threshold Level is set to Material, the Application field is display-only.
SCIP Whether the threshold level is specific to the SCIP. If the Threshold Level is specific to SCIP, the value is displayed as Yes. Otherwise the value is displayed as Blank.

These actions are only available for inactive Compliance Definitions.
