Loading IMDS Data

You can download and import IMDS common files (used to configure Materials Compliance Management to work with IMDS) or daily files (used to import IMDS Material Data Sheets, Modules, and Regulations into Materials Compliance Management). See User Preferences to enter the IMDS username/password and proxy server details.

Required access roles:

  • Common files:
    • Baseline: Owner
    • App-specific: Compliance Administrator
  • Daily files:
    • Baseline: Leader
    • App-specific: Senior Compliance Engineer

  1. From the top bar, click Add > Materials Compliance > Load IMDS Data.
  2. Select one or more check boxes to download IMDS data:

    You must have the Leader role to download data other than the listed Common Data.

    Check Box Description
    Common Data You must have the Owner access role to download common data.

    Downloads and imports these initial files: Company/Contact (CCALL), Basic Substances (SBALL), Material Classifications (MCALL), Applications (SAALL), Substance Applications (SARALL), Substance Groups (SGALL), Regulation Product Types (RPTALL), Norm Institutes (NIAll), Material Classification - Product Type Matrix (MCPT) SACAII.dat - SCIP-Article Category, and SMCALL.dat - SCIP Material Category.

    Public Modules Downloads and imports the daily file (MPDaily) that contain material data sheets that are published in IMDS.
    MDS Specific Downloads and imports the daily file (CMSDaily or MSDaily) that contains material data sheets that are accepted or internally released by your company or canceled by the sender.
    Module Downloads and imports the daily file (MODDaily) that contains modules of your company in the status of internally released.
    Company Regulations Downloads and imports the daily file (CRDaily) that contains regulation data for company-specific modules.
    Public Regulations Downloads and imports the daily file (PRDaily) that contains regulation data for public modules.
    Regulation Requests Downloads and imports the latest daily file (RRDaily) that contains regulation requests.
    Data Move Downloads and imports the latest data move file(DMVDaily) that is specific to IMDS company.
    Note: The company contact file is also downloaded and imported with the data move file if the data move file consists the OC or RC record types.

  3. Click Done.
    The Monitor Progress page displays, showing status about the download. See Background Jobs Page.
