Setting the Default Manufacturing Responsibility

A plant can be assigned as the default manufacturing responsibility for part change objects for the current session, or for the current session and all future use. When viewing the BOM for a part in Plant Preferences view or MBOM Plant-Specific view, the plant assigned as the default manufacturing responsibility is shown in the Plant filter. All other plants that have manufacturing responsibility for the part (as defined on the change object for that part) are listed in the Plant list in the page toolbar.

For example, if you set the plant “Korea” as the default manufacturing responsibility, and the plants “Korea,” “China,” and “San Jose” have manufacturing responsibility for the context part, then the plant filter shows “Korea” as the selected plant and includes “China” and “San Jose” in the list.

Before you begin:

  • From the top bar, click > Preferences to access the Preferences page.
  • In the left frame of the Preferences page, click MBOM to see preferences specific to Manufacturing BOM Management.
