Local update takes into account only the local mesh specifications. It does not use the
global specification from the parameters in the Surface Triangle Mesh
or Surface Quad Mesh dialog box for the mesh you are editing.
Therefore, if you start with no surface mesh—or remove the existing surface mesh—a local
update allows you to verify which domains have a complete local mesh specification since only
those domains can be meshed without relying on the global specifications.
The action to update the mesh locally (
) is available only in the context toolbar, and only when you have not selected anything from the tree or from the 3D area before opening the context toolbar.
