Reading an Article

You can read the articles the widget has retrieved.

The steps below depend on the Open directly on the site widget preference.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Configure Channel.

Read an Article When the Open directly on the site Preference is Disabled

Before you begin: Go to

Menu >

Preferences and clear the Open directly on the site check box.

From the list of articles, click the title of the article you want to read.
The article opens in the Channel widget.
Optional: Click the article title to open it on its source website in a new window.
Opening an article on its source website is especially useful when the source only allowed the widget to retrieve an excerpt of the content instead of the full content.
After reading the article, click Close to close the article.

The article closes and the widget displays the list of articles. The article you closed appears in a lighter font to indicate that you have read it.

Notes:

This article appears as read across all your Channel and Tracked Topic widgets that contain this article.
This article appears as read to you only, including when you are on a synchronized dashboard.
