Configuring the Email Ingredient

You can configure Potion with the Email Ingredient as a Trigger to make Potion execute its Actions whenever you send it an email.

1. From the When menu, select I send an email to my Potion.
2. Optional: Customize the email address of your Potion by doing either of the following:
   • In the Potion email address field, enter any text to create the local-part of the email address.
   • Click to generate another random local-part.

   Important: The local-part must be unique to this Trigger. You will not be able to save your Potion if the local-part you specified is already used by a Potion of yours or of any user with whom you share the same 3DEXPERIENCE platform environment.

3. Optional: Add one or several of the following conditions:

   Condition	Description
   Address of sender contains	Potion is only triggered when it receives an email from an email address that contains the text value you have entered in this field. For example, @yourcompany.com.
   Name of sender contains	Potion is only triggered when it receives an email whose sender contains the text value you have entered in this field. For example, John Doe.
   Content contains	Potion is only triggered when it receives an email whose body contains the text value you have entered in this field.
   Subject contains	Potion is only triggered when it receives an email whose subject contains the text value you have entered in this field.

   Note: For each condition, you can enter several text values.

4. Click Save.

The email address of your Potion is created and appears on the Details tab of the widget. Your Potion executes its Actions whenever you send an email that complies with the conditions you set at step 3 to that email address.

You can attach files to your email. Supported files types depend on the Action(s).

You can configure Potion with the Email Ingredient as an Action to make Potion send an email whenever the conditions of its Triggers are met.

1. From the Magically list, select Send an email.
2. In the To field, enter at least one email address.

   Tip: You can enter several addresses at once by separating them with a comma.

   Recipients only see their own email address. They do not know who else your email is sent to.

   Recipients can unsubscribe from the Potion at anytime without your knowledge. For more information, see Managing Email and Phone Notifications.

3. In the Subject option, do either or both of the following:
   • Select the subject option that may be retrieved from the Trigger you configured.
   • In the field, enter a text of your own.
4. In the Message body option, do either or both of the following:
   • Select the option that may be retrieved from the Trigger you configured.
   • In the field, enter a text of your own.
5. Click Save.

Your Potion sends an email whenever the conditions if its Triggers are met. The number of emails that can be sent is limited. For more information, see About Sending Restrictions and Limits.
