Editing Widget Preferences

You can edit preferences for MisoData.

This task shows you how to:

Edit the Chart Title

By default, the widget header displays the app name followed by the default chart name that MisoData generated from its configuration automatically. You can display a custom title instead of the default chart title.

Note: You cannot modify nor delete the app name from the widget header.

  1. In the Title field, enter your custom title.

    If you leave the field blank, the widget header will display the default chart title.

  2. Click Save.

Edit the Displayed Dates

You can change the displayed start and end dates of time-series.

Before you begin: Your MisoData must be displaying a time-series.
Tip: Either the x-axis or the y-axis of a chart displaying a time-series is made of dates.
  1. In the Start Date and End Date fields, enter the dates of your choice.

    Note: The date format of full dates must be YYYY-MM-DD. You can also enter a relative date:
    • now
    • -xhours
    • -xdays
    • -xweeks
    • -xyears

  2. Click Save.

The chart displays the results corresponding to the dates you entered.

Note: No data is deleted when you edit the displayed dates. The results out of the dates you entered are hidden and will be visible again if you edit the displayed dates accordingly.

Compare to Past

On a chart that displays a time-series, you can create a second curve that displays the results from an older date range.

Before you begin: Your MisoData must be displaying a time-series.
Tip: Either the x-axis or the y-axis of a chart displaying a time-series is made of dates.
  1. Select Compare to.
  2. Enter a past relative date in the Comparison Start Date field, for example -30days.
  3. Click Save.

Change the Range

On a chart that displays a time-series, you can manually change the range of the displayed period.

Before you begin: Your MisoData must be displaying a time-series.
Tip: Either the x-axis or the y-axis of a chart displaying a time-series is made of dates.
  1. From the Range list, select the option of your choice.
  2. Click Save.

The range you selected is applied to your chart.

Note: MisoData can only display up to 1,000 values per range. MisoData will invite you to select another range if the current range cannot display all values.

Select the Display Time Zone

You can select which time zone to use for the dates of the x-axis.

  1. From the Display time zone list, select one of the following options:
    OptionDescription
    Import time zone Dates are displayed according to the Import time zone that was selected during the configuration of MisoData. For more information, see Select Range for Quantitative Time-Series.
    My local time zone Dates are displayed according to your local time zone.
  2. Click Save.

Filter Null Values

By default, MisoData hides all values equal to 0 from the chart. You can make MisoData display these values.

  1. Clear Filter null values.
  2. Click Save.

Apply Logarithmic Scale

You can apply a logarithmic scale on the axis of a MisoData that displays a time-series.

Before you begin: Your MisoData must be displaying a time-series.
Tip: Either the x-axis or the y-axis of a chart displaying a time-series is made of dates.
  1. Select Apply logarithmic scale.
  2. Click Save.
