Organizing your Drawing Using Layers

You can manage layers and groups of layers through options available in the frame at the top-left of the screen. Layers let you organize and optimize your drawing. They are fully integrated with the other commands of the app.

Create Layers and Groups of Layers

You can create layers or groups of layers.

  1. Tap Create Group .
    A group named Group x appears, it can contain one or more layers.
  2. Tap Create Layer .
    A layer named Layer x appears under the Group x node.
  3. Start drawing.
    Once you exit the command, the layer is automatically updated.
  4. Create a second layer and start drawing.
    The second layer contains the new drawing.
  5. Switch to the first layer.
    The drawing plane is updated. Here is an example:

    Note: You can select the Multi-Layers selection option to enable the modification of all layers at once. See Natural Sketch Options.

Duplicate Layers and Groups of Layers

You can duplicate one or more layers and groups of layers.

Select one or more layers or groups of layers and tap Duplicate Layers .
The duplicated layers or groups appear as Layer x Copy n or Group x Copy n under the Group x node (where n corresponds to the smallest available number for the copy), after the duplicated layer or group.

Merge Layers and Groups of Layers

You can merge layers and group of layers that have the same hierarchical level.

Before you begin: The following groups and layers are created:



Select a layer or a group of layers and tap Merge Up .
The selected layer or group is merged with the above layer or group.

Delete Layers and Groups of Layers

You can delete layers and group of layers.

Select one or more layers or groups of layers and tap Delete Layers .
The selected layers or groups are deleted. If you delete all layers and groups, the default layer is kept.

Preview Layers

The size and preview of layers and groups can be modified. You can switch from one mode to another.

  1. Tap Change Layers Preview .
    A frame appears:

  2. Select the preview amongst the three available types (2 icons, 1 icon and 1 label or 2 labels).
    The preview is modified accordingly in the frame.
