The Connector for Cadence OrCAD Database Library includes the Component Data
Management dialog box where a Librarian can synchronize components between the
ECAD Library in Cadence OrCAD and 3DEXPERIENCE. You can also create new components in 3DEXPERIENCE using the CDM feature.
Important:
OrCAD must run on the machine that you install The Library Connector
on. Before installing the Connector, install the Connector Server Component in 3DEXPERIENCE and set up Web Services for 3DEXPERIENCE.
To enable this component, select File > Open Project in Cadence OrCAD. Use the file chooser to locate and select the OrCAD
CIS Project File.dbc.
You can configure Component Data Management to synchronize data in the background. This is
helpful when the ECAD library or the parts in require synchronization on a frequent basis
without any user interaction. Typically, a daily synchronization saves the latest changes in
either the ECAD Library or 3DEXPERIENCE.
The background process creates a detailed report file in the project folder when
synchronizing materials from 3DEXPERIENCE to the ECAD library. The report lists materials added,
removed, attributes modified and materials with no changes. For information about how to
configure and execute background synchronization, see the Administrator Guide.
Note:
You may have to increase of The Java heap space if you synchronize more than
a thousand parts at a time. If you see a java.lang.OutOfMemoryError or
Java heap space error when synchronizing, change the setting under the
connector executable
<ROOTINSTALLATION>\bin\<ConnectorName>.vmoptions to
increase the size of java heap space.
