Instantiating a User Feature from a Representation

You can instantiate a user feature stored in a representation saved in database.


Before you begin:
  • You must have created a user feature.
  • To access the models used in this topic, import the Bounding_Box_Reference_000.3dxml and the Bounding_Box_Destination_000.3dxml files located in win_b64\startup\Knowledgeware\3D Templates Samples\Sample1.

  1. Open the destination product.
  2. If need be, from the Compass, click 3D Modeling Apps and select 3D Templates Capture.
  3. Click Instantiation from Representation .
  4. Search in the database for the 3D shape representation containing the user feature you created, Bounding Sphere in our example, using the From Search tab. Search in the database for the 3D shape representation containing the user feature you created using the From Search tab
  5. Double-click it in the list.
    1. From the Reference scrolling list, select the user feature that you want to instantiate in the Insert Object dialog box.
    2. Select the input in thetree or in the 3D area.
  6. Click OK when you are done.
    The user feature is instantiated.
