Product Lines Page

The Product Line page shows the hierarchical relationship between the product line and its sub product lines, models, and model versions.

To access the product line hierarchy:

Open the product line. See Opening a Product Line.
Click Categories .
In the navigation pane, click Product Lines.

Columns

The Product Line page shows the parent product line on the first line of the table. Each subsequent level of the product line's hierarchy is indented in the table.


Column Name	Description
Marketing Name	The defined marketing name for the object in the product line hierarchy. Click to open the object's Properties page.
(Derivation Cue)	Indicates that the model version is a derivation.
(Latest Cue)	Indicates that the model version is the latest revision.
Type	The type of object in the product line hierarchy.
Name	The name of the object in the product line hierarchy. Click to open the object's Properties page.
(Image)	The image associated with the object in the product line hierarchy.
Description	The detailed description of the object in the product line hierarchy.
State	The current lifecycle state of the object in the product line hierarchy.
Company	The company that owns the product line.
Owner	The person responsible for the product line.
(Open in New Window)	Click to open the object in the product line hierarchy in a new window.

Product Line > Add Existing	Allows you to search for and add an existing product line. If you select a product line first, adds a sub product line for the selected product line.	About Searches

Model Version > Create Model Version	Allows you to create a model version (and its parent model automatically) and adds them to the product line.	Creating a Model Version
Model Version > Create Derivation	Allows you to create a derivation of the selected model version.	Creating a Model Version Revision
Model Version > Create Revision	Allows you to create a revision of the selected model version.	Creating a Model Version Revision
Product Line > Create Product Line	Creates a product line. If you select a product line first, creates a sub product line for the selected product line.	Creating a Product Line
Add to Portfolio	Allows you to search for and select the portfolio to add the selected models and model versions to.	About Searches
Remove	Removes the selected objects from the product line, but does not remove them from the database.	-
Delete	Deletes selected objects from the database. Click OK to confirm.	-
